Potential new Apex owner/Apex 288BH info

Most of my front LED's need to be replaced. All good under the canopy. Poorly sealed, I think.
We didn't want a U-shaped dinette either. Still seating for four and my wife felt it was too hard for those sitting inside to get in/out. It does seem to provide a wider sleeper, if needed.
We also toured the Passports both times we looked to "upgrade." A little heavier... A little less amenities... and a little more expensive. I do run into many Passport owners and most of them seem to be happy with their units.
To be honest, all things being equal, the FRF means a lot to us. I have been able to solve most of my problems right here, without service appt's.
One last piece of input... Standard queen mattresses fit nicely in the 288BHS, no mods needed. We purchased one from Sam's Club and put it in. No more feet dangling, and creates a nice spot for our pooch to sleep out of the way of foot traffic.

Anyone have sliding bedroom doors in a past TT? Just curious if it's better than the curtains.

I have the sliding bedroom doors now and I really like it. It's better than curtains in a lot of ways.

1)Better sound control.
2)No need to double check that the curtain isn't blowing around from the AC before changing clothes.
3)Speaking of AC, closing the sliding doors upon arrival and opening the main vent on the AC unit helps cool down the main area of the TT faster. Also, the bedroom seems to stay colder at night with the doors closed.
4)I have a place to put the dog and contain her while we eat or if she just needs some peace and quiet. She can go right under curtains but has not sorted out how to slide open a door.

Just be sure you secure them in the OPEN position during travel. They are only attached at the roof, and will damage the bottom roller if they get violently moved forward and back during travel (ask me how I know).

Is Azdel only used in the sidewalls? Are the front and back luan or filon?

It's my understanding that the 3 walls are Azdel. The front may be different...

The PDF doesn't specify front or back it says:

Fully laminated aluminum framed radius
rubber roof – R-11
Vacuum bond Azdel/fiberglass sidewalls
(additional R-1)
Laminated aluminum framed fully insulated
sidewalls – R-9
Laminated aluminum framed floor – R-11

What tires are you using on your 1/2 ton trucks? Are they LT? Mine currently has the stock P tires. I use to tow a 4500 lb boat and couldn't really tell it was there. That being said, the hitch weight was probably only 450 lbs.

Im thinking rear is azdel also and if one doesnt have the dark front cap with led lights that would be azdel also. No sence in them just making the "sides" azdel!

As far as tires, i thought my cooper at3's were c rated but i dont see any load range c on them. They do handel 2679lbs each though which is right around c rating. Most seem to still have the p tires on their trucks.
