We're heading to Willow Tree in Longs, SC near Myrtle for our last long weekend. Means a wash and wax and winterization later next week!

What's the rule for winterizing? We're lucky enough to be in AZ where camping is a year round activity but considering a relocation to somewhere greener. Are the Carolinas not year round camping country?

Last trip of the season for us. Twin Grove Campground in Pine Grove, PA. Nice little campground.

We thought about trying Twin Grove. Too many campgrounds to try. Glad to hear you like it, we may need to add it to our list. We're already booking trips for next year.

As far as Hershey Park area campgrounds, I think this might be the best of them. 35-min from the park. Most sites are acceptable size (only a few with shade... But some also have very nice mountain views), lots of activities for the kids, good amenities, two dog play areas, on-site restaurant (reasonably priced)... And no trains. Their website also shows you which sites are available for your dates, which I love. I just dropped my Hershey Park CG reservation and booked a week there for next summer. Need any site advice, you can PM me.

This is my first year so I'm going to winterization when I get back next week. Lows have been right at 32 so we've been good so far. I've heard to get it done before it dips into the 20s.
NC could be more year round than we make it. Takes more effort. We have to store our camper and can't keep it at home plugged in. That would help...

My opinion is that if it's going to be into the upper 20's (27-28ish) for just a couple hours, and its enclosed underneath, you should be ok. I was away last week when we hit 26-deg for about 4 hours. Thankfully, all is good.

Interesting. Needless to say they skip that part during predelivery walk through. Our low right now is 60. But that's part of what we need to escape. Mountain camping in the summer and desert camping in the winter is great but we only have two to three real "go to" places within a two hour drive. How is the easy coast for boondocking? Kinda spoiled with not having to pay to use dirt out here.

Not much of it out here that I know of. State parks are a pretty good compromise, IMO.

An update on my bunk window issue. We had a pretty hard rain last night and woke up to a dry bunk... So it looks like everything was fixed properly. It passed my visual inspection, and a water hose test, but it sure was nice to see it hold up under real world conditions.

Good news KDHfan. Glad that's straightened out now. Stressful...
Let me ask a question. I don't THINK I'm an idiot. There's still time to prove that either way I suppose... I can't get the TV to receive any over the air stations. Can't say as I've ever tried it. Booster in on. All cables are tight. Even took the booster wall plate off and tightened all 3 connections. Not sure why there are 3! Anyway, TV is on TV (coax) input and set to AIR. Scan shows zero channels I suppose it's possible there are none in this area but doubtful.
What am I forgetting?

Did you raise your antenna? I don't think it would matter much but who knows

... Or try to bypass the booster and see if that works. I don't like those things.. So if they're boosting noise

288BHS antenna doesn't raise up/down.
I have noticed that the antennas in these things aren't the best, but no worse than my previous two campers. Boost should be on for over-the-air channels and off for cable.
TV ---> AIR ----> SCAN... That's all there is to it, really. This past weekend was the first time I actually got mine to pick up more than two channels over the air.

The antenna on my 2013 288bhs raises and lowers. There are lots of differences in just the two model years. I feel like mine is a beginner apex. No led lighting.. No nose light, hand crank jack, the belly is exposed from about the axles back. I still love her though.

I could have sworn somewhere in this thread was the part number for the bulb under the stove hood. I must have dreamed it. That or using a phone to surf the forum is a bad idea. It was the only non-LED bulb in our camper and it died this week.
Looking for an LED replacement.

The cable fittings were pretty horrible and loose also, not good in the digital world! This is why i changed out every single one!
Sad thing is, i just sold my apex locally. Just too much going on with our new house, i didnt wanna see it sitting on my lawn not getting used like it should. Nice guy, i had him read this whole thread! Hopefully he will join and post here!
