Tires are constancy, china made.
Spare is up front under the propain tanks, i cauked the seams and painted it black so it doesnt rust like all those steel white wheels do.
Just carry a 3/4 or 19mm deep socket and a breaker bar. If you use a drill to put down the stabilizer jacks the same socket can be used for them.

Max speed for camper tires is 65mph. Tires should be replaced every 3 years or 5,000-10,000 miles, no matter what they look like.

Wow i didnt know they should be replaced in 3 yrs! I guess if we go with a good make then it can be treated like a car tire?
I dont really go over 65mph either.

Thanks. That would be my max anyway. Even in a 75 zone. I was hoping they weren't rated for 55.
I wonder if wheels can take E rated pressures to get speed higher on flat perfect highways?

I'm kind of surprised that the Apex came with 14's for tires. Our Starcraft had 15's which was nice, especially regarding clearance. Any idea why they chose a smaller tire?

Prolly cause the camper is lower and the axle is on the top side of the leaf spring.
Umptysquat, the jacks are on the corners under camper, Manuel scissor style.

Ya only stabilizing jacks. The socket is the same size and the wheel nuts.

There's some debate on these boards as to the proper way to jack your camper for a flat. Im pretty sure you don't want to jack from the frame. Some say you must lift both axles and some say there's enough weight on the other three that it won't hurt to jack just the one. If I get a flat, I'll call call roadside assistance 😁... If unavailable or I get impatient, I'll use the levelers method... Drive the good tire up on levelers and the flat hangs enough to get it changed out.
Not sure when I'll get to the fan again... Hopefully before we hit the road on Thursday.
Here's a pic of the socket Cableman is referring to. Much easier than cranking your stabilizers up and down by hand.

Amazon sells the socket for around $6. Well worth it. Just make sure you oil/lube up scissor rod. It will work like butter. Also, I installed a new porcelain toilet (wife very happy). The 'Thetford Style 2' fits ands looks great. I would post pics but can't figure out how, lol. Any help on doing that?

I didnt mean to confuse you umptysquat, the only thing the stablilizer jacks and tires have in common are the sockets the same size!
I have the one kdh listed and a reg socket that fits my impact driver too. Both work well.

I bought the Andersen levelers already. I guess they'd raise enough to change it. I think it lifts 4" and the Trailer Aid lifts 4.5". Trailer Aid Plus is 5.5".

Potential new Apex owner/Apex 288BH info
Installed the master bed overhead reading light (except for filling in the screw holes). This one will be much better than the stock light. The wife can read without me grumbling about a spot light shining in my eyes. I was initially confused... I assumed the black wire would connect to the black wire... Nope.

So I'm reading about a manual tongue jack crank that was supposed to come with the camper in the event of failure. Did you guys get one and what did it look like?

I know this should probably be in the tow forum but I was specifically interested in the 288BHS angle.
I'm getting new tires for the new to me truck. It currently has Michelin LT A/S tires. I want Cooper Zeon LTZ. LT=LT more or less but I was considering increasing the load rating. Tire guy says it's a waste of money and I don't need it for my camper. I'd hate the ride when not towing.
Thoughts?
