refrigerator on gas

Tested the frig on gas, It worked for a while, but it was constantly clicking. That tank went dry an I switched over to the other tank. It made the clicking sound but the check light kept coming on and the fridge stopped cooling switched to 12 v on it worked. I could hear the clicking noise but not at the same rate as the gas clicking sound.
Thoughts??

Air in the line and or you opened the tank valve to fast.

Shut tank valve off and SLOWLY turn it back on.

it will only try a couple times to light then it will give up. Light your stove burner to clear air from the line. Turn fridge off then back on to reset. Might have to cycle again if it doesn't light the first time.

Once switched to 110v ac, you are not using the propane system and should not hear anymore clicking of the gas igniter. Double check that both tanks are not empty. It happens. Good advice the others have given If there is available propane, bleed the air out.

I can't get this sentence to fit in my brain. If you truly switched to 12 v, it means you have a 3-way refrigerator, not a propane/110v AC fridge. Did you mean to say 'switched to 120v?

Had same clicking/check light problem when trying to run fridge on gas. Dealer said air in line, always light one stove burner first as it is a much bigger draw on the gas and will clear the lines...worked like a charm.

X2.

Light a stove burner first to get all the air out of the line, then switch on the fridge.

Thanks the suggestions. We did run out on 1st tank. Switched over and it worked. The dealership is going to check the setting for altitude.
12v (DC) and propane
