Replacing RV mattress?

Has anyone found a good source for replacement mattresses. My Freedom Express 290 BHS'S rear mattress has a corner cut so the bathroom door will open. Any ideas? Custom manufacturer?

Years back we bought a replacement mattress for our 5'er. It was a short queen. The brand was Richardson, made by Serta. Very nice mattress, better than home. At the time they would make it any custom size or shape for an extra $50. Again, we're talking same quality and type as you have at home, so not cheap, but wife couldn't sleep on the original one so it was worth the money.

Mattress

Go to Amazon and search for foam mattresses. There are a couple of companies that manufacture products that are appropriately sized for the RV industry. IMHO foam is the only way to go...and can be easily trimmed to suit your needs. Just keep in mind that a 10" mattress would be a minimum thickness. Get ready for a great nights sleep!

We bought our 290 BHS used, the previous owner took a nice thick egg carton type mattress topper and trimmed it to fit over that crap they call a mattress. It's very comfortable

Wish I was here right now

My stock coachmen mattress was horrid. I switched it out with my old trailer mattress. I also have a memory foam topper. Like most others here I recommend a topper.

We out a Denver mattress in ours. Got it through the camping supply store that is part of the dealership. Depending on thickness and size (Q or K) they range from about $300-$800.

RV mattress

Foam topper is good way to go. In case you didn't know an electric knife will trim the mattress to any size or shape you need.

After MUCH research we replaced ours with one from Amazon... short queen and better than the one in the house. Sadly it is no longer available.

We bought this futon mattress from Amazon for the lower rear bunk of our '14 Flagstaff 27BESS. Lower bunk also had the "cutout" for the bathroom door. I screwed a piece of 1"x6" the length of the angle to keep the end corner of the mattress from hanging over. No problems. Plus, my 300# son found the 8" mattress very comfortable.

Just a thought. Big truck dealerships sell custom mattresses in a lot of sizes. You can get high-end at reasonable prices since they but in bulk.

Thanks all. Got the memory foam topper for the odd shaped mattress. Going to replace the queen size with a freight sell mattress. Can't be any worse than the stock mattress. Thought about the sleep number bed...they want too much money.

Sleep number will be the replacement in the Sunseeker, when it comes time. I've already been told.

I just recently replaced ours with a cool-gel memory foam mattress that is currently less than $200 for the RV Queen with free shipping here:

8" Cool Gel Memory Foam Mattress

Best upgrade so far.

4" memory gel foam topper works great and added little weight since the bed is right in front.
