Scare Light Lense Replacement

I bought a Chaparral 390 QSMB 6 months ago and so far so good. There is a scare light on the front right up high that I have lost the lens to. It is opaque, oval and about 8.5 inches long. Being new to this I contacted the factory and they gave me a part number they think it might be but I can't order it from them. They said I have to go through a dealer. So far 3 phone calls to 3 different dealers have left me with nothing. They either don't return my call or can't get it. Is it always this hard? Is there someway I can get the part number and order it myself. It is 2017!!! Just seems ridiculous.

I've had a time with coachmen. I have a 2016 chaparral 371mbrb. Coachmen refuses to fix any cosmetic issues, or the previously broken fridge, vent fans etc. These are all dealer issues and my dealer is a scumbag so....I broke down and found a guy who does repairs on sight. He's friends with a relative and a former employee of the dealership so he's cheap but knows what's up too. Winwin

i looked at your model and its looks or seems identical to the light on my Rockwood 8289ws. My local dealer has them for sale in their parts dept. i was looking where you're located just to see what i may recommend. i took a picture of the lens i needed for a step light with vin & model number & got my part ordered & is now installed. :-)

it is possible you have one of the lights mirror imaged on the camper left or port side. take a picture then find a dealer parts dept that wants to help.
This is what i recommend. hope it helps

I lost the lens cover several times and always found it on the shelf at dealers, this last time I applied just a bit of silicone in several spots on lens, it's been a year and haven't lost it yet.

Scare Light

As mentioned above: Find a dealer that wants to work with you, send your model, VIN# and a picture of the light fixture to the parts manager; and they can order it for you. I have a Columbus that has the same scare light on it. I bought the rig, used, from an individual. I called a couple of dealers before I found someone who could help.

I had to buy the whole light fixture to get the lens, but they are not expensive and it came with a bulb that is now my spare. I don't know the dealers in your area, and it may take a few phone calls to find one with a good parts department, but don't give up.

We took our scare light off and replaced it with a Star Light 1,000. Its a great led light and can be set as a motion detector it also swivels and can be easily adjusted to where you wan the most light. if anyone comes near our door at night. Wind in the trees can bother it and it will cycle off and on. So not great in windy areas or near trees however we never did find the original light fixture of much satisfaction.

For my previous trailer, a Rockwood, I ordered the complete fixture on Amazon for $8 or so. I don't know if they have black ones but might be worth a look.

Yes they have Black ones and they can be used as either a regular porch lite or with the motion sensor feature.

All I can seem to find on ebay or amazon is the 6.5 inch light fixtures. I am full time so I will look up dealers at our next stop

I just went out and pulled the lens off of mine. Unfortunately, it does not have a part number on it. Wish I could have helped!
