Scissor jacks without mounting
I want to put scissor jacks fore and aft of my axels on the frame to remove bounce in the center of the trailer, but I dont want to mount them, i currently use stack jacks but these can be a pain to place. What do you guys think?

Why not mount them and eliminate having to "place" them and store them?

What you want are called 'save a jack'. I bought mine at Camping World. If you go on CampingWorld.com and check their price.... If you live close to a Camping World, they will sell it to you for the price on the Dot.Com as a price comparing. The slide in bracket is permantly mounted to the unit and the scissor jack has a bracket to slide it in. I did not want the scissor jacks hanging down going down the road. Works really easy.

If they are mounted for and aft of the axles, it would be pretty difficult to drag them off without major damage in other places. Have never dragged a mounted jack in over 50 yrs of pulling trailers.

From the Pictures of his unit, it sits closer to the ground. He will drag in certain conditions. had a unit fairly like that and over the years drug both 'drag bars' off of it and once in a while skidded (drag) on the back bumper.

Doesn't sit any lower than my Flagstaff 8528RKWS and he wants the jacks right in front of and right behind the axles.

Thanks for all the advice guys. my dealer said he could mount some there for me but I thought scissor jacks would just be quicker to pop down and run the drill to raise them.
They wouldnt scrape anything being at the axels if I mounted them there.
Those stack jacks just take forever to set up and I usually have to lay on my back to get them in position, and then start screwing (not the fun kind).
I use 4, 2 in front and 2 behind

Here is how I mounted mine so they could be removed easily. (Which I did when I traded them to Herk). BTW, one bolt instead of 2 is enough.

To do it 'right' (imo), if you are going to the corners now, then you 'need' 6 scissor jacks . one set in front of the axles and a set about a foot or so back from each corner (not on the bumper, but on the frame). Set up like this, you can release any pressure off of the tongue jack. And if you have no jack if you had a flat, to put under the axle plate/bolt (not on the axle as it will bend) You can lift the axles/tires off the ground.
It is your unit. What ever you do, do it correctly in mounting to the frame so there is no question about the safety of it.
Safety first and always.

I have 2 older jacks that I keep in the front of the 5er for times when we will be sitting still more than a couple nights. I just use the drill to run them up and down as needed.
I will say this: on our current 5er with hydraulic front landing gear and electric rear stab jacks I use them a lot less. On our last campers I always had the drill out anyway so it was no big deal to put these out. Now, I only need the drill if I'm putting these out and I've found its less hassle when setting up to just not do it.
