Stabilizer jack mount on Freedom Express 248RBS

The stabilizer jacks on our new 248RBS are bolted to what appears to be 3/16 steel plate welded to the frame. The center of the stabilizer jack weight support point is about 2.5 inches off the center of the frame. This results in a less stable trailer because of the flex of the mounting plate. Are all FE built like this or were my jacks installed incorrectly? Is there a recommended way to mount the jacks.

See if the warranty contact can help answer your question. You may need to provide pictures of what you're seeing:

Are you sure my 11 y o grandson didn't install that jack?

Email this pic to the line's warranty person.

Are you saying that this came from the factory like this?

A perfect example of how NOT to install anything on a camper.

Flybob, if you can schedule a trip to Concord, NC sometime after mid Mar 2015, I will correct that mess free of charge to you. I would not use those in the present configuration for fear of doing permanent damage to the frame.

Not sure if it came from factory like that or if they were installed by dealer. Trying to find out. I asked the dealer and their answer " There are all like that" , however that is the same answer I received on several other questions. I am going to give FR the benefit of the doubt fir now, but so far not impressed.

Have you contacted Coachmen directly (bypassing your dealer) yet?
