Stable-Ryd spread axle x-chock

Hi all,

We just purchased a 2019 Freedom Express 257BHS. We don't actually get it until the end of April but we're doing some pre-emptive shopping. One thing I'm looking at are stabilizing chocks like the X-chocks.

I've searched but haven't found an answer to this yet. Do any of you with the Stable-Ryd spread axle know if regular xchocks will fit or if the Xtended ones are necessary?

Sorry for the noobish question.

Thanks!

I've got to order a set for my 2015 Freedom Express 246RKS and they are going to need the extended ones. Depending on where you get them and which brand, for Ultra-Fab Super Grip it's the model 21-001095 (for a pair) and for the BAL X-Chocks it is the model 28024 (for a pair - note on amazon it is less expensive to buy 2 of the single xtended BAL models than the pair - go figure). Ultra Fab fits wheels that are 3 1/2" to 17" apart and the BAL fit wheels that are 10 to 17" apart.

I don't have mine yet so I can't comment on if one brand is better than another. Hopefully someone else will comment on that. I did notice that the Ultra Fab is $77 for a pair of the XL models on amazon which is about 2/3 the price of a pair of the XL BAL. The Ultra Fab is $105 on e-Trailer, so I went ahead and ordered the $77 pair on Amazon (sold by amazon). Glad you asked about this as the last time I looked at them they were $104.

Thanks for the tip! given the difference in price and the decent reviews I think I'm leaning towards the UltraFab XL.

All the best!

I have the BAL X-Chocks (extended version) for my 246RKS. They work great at stabilizing the trailer while parked. If I'm only going to be parked for a night or two, I don't bother with them but for anything longer, I put them on.

Sounds like there are less expensive options out there and I'm sure they would work great as well.

My Ultra-Fab X Chocks came today. $77 for a XL pair was a bargain!

I've been using my X-Chocks on two different trailers for the last six years...

Love them...never leave home (with the 5'ver in tow) without them!
