Sway bar vs. Load leveler 2015 320BHDS
On our second trip with our new 320BHDS and I've come to the conclusion that before we go on our 2 week long adventure out west this summer I have got to get the "swaying" problem of our TT under control.
TV is a 2003 dodge 3500 SRW crew cab, cummins so it's got plenty of power. Being a 1 ton I don't necessarily need the load leveler to help with tongue weight.
Yesterday we went through a pretty nasty storm here in IL and actually ended up getting off the highway because with every passing semi I felt the TT decide it preferred to be in the ditch. Once we were on the side road I could run 60mph with no issues. Would a load leveling system help enough with this or a sway bar, or 2??

Install an Equal-i-zer 4 point system. Weight distribution and sway control all built into one unit. No issues when backing up... And you do not have to be backed straight in to get it connected. This should eliminate your issues. My previous sway system was the friction bar... Did pretty good but semi's passing by really made for some hairy moments. I installed the Equal-i-zer and now have zero push/pull from semi's and zero sway in high winds.

I checked into that system, makes so much more sense then the chain type that do nothing to control sway. Appreciate the input!

I got the Blue Ox Swaypro 1500 for $670 Canadian from Amazon.ca ... the US site has it for $560. Was very easy to install and adjust and had some really good reviews online. I towed in high winds with a 310BHDS last week and it was rock solid.

Yup blueox is a nice setup too. I kept looking around and managed to find one on ebay w/o shank for 300 shipped then ordered shank for 130! Just keep looking around, there are good deals that pop up for either hitches.

Prices I listed are MSRP of the website, was pointing out the little price difference between the 10K and 12K

I found a "local" guy 2 hours away, one way from me who has the equalizer 4 way for sale for 500$ OBO. I found a brand new one delivered for $460ish. I told him this but because e paid the full retail for it at a brick and mortar outfit he thing it's worth more. I offered him 300$ and I think that's fair for the travel time/fuel expense along with the fact that it's used and has no warranty.
My question is, I know these things are pretty tough but should purchasing new and having a warranty be an issue? He said he will take $350, for that money is it worth the time/expense to travel and get it vs. A brand new one delivered for a mere $100 more?.? Thoughts.?.😱

For the $100 I'd buy new. If you buy his, when you get it home and find something wrong, it's yours. At least with the new, you can get it corrected. JMO

FWIW.....I like to think in terms of %......$100.00 more is roughly 30% more $......again, FWIW.......

If I were in your shoes I'd be getting the Equalizer 4 point like many have recommended. It works and it's made in America. And it's reasonably priced.

I've been thinking about replacing my Husky Round Bar WHD hitch with this Equalizer 4 point, but I want to keep my Class V shank, so I e-mailed PPL for a price without the shank, it's 100.00 more? Don't understand that getting less is more??

Buy it with the shank, sell the shank it comes with on craigslist!
