Toilet Problem
2017 Coachmen Chaparral Lite 5th wheel. Has porcelain toilet. Will not hold water in bowl for short time period. Can see black ring where it appears to seal.
Can I replace the seal or must it go into a dealer? Also, how would I find the model to get the part?
Thank you for any assistance.
Rick

Most toilets have to be removed to replace rubber seal. Before doing that put on gloves and rub vegetable oil all around top and bottom of seal while holding open. Sometimes seal dries out from heat

IMO, your unit is to new for the seal to dry out, what can happen is the seal slides to one side which will create the problem your talking about. There is a y tube on it and how to reposition it, I would try that first...

rcostello.....
It would help if you tell us the make and model of the toilet. Telling us your motorhome model doesn’t help us, because manufacturers often change components within the motorhome like what you’re questioning.

He said he didn't know the model or could he find it, per the OP a couple of post ago.

Guess I missed that one.
My make and model are labled at the back underside of toilet. You need a mirror and flashlight to see it, or remove the toilet to turn it upside down. However, I upgraded ours and have the owners manual.
All toilets are not created equal

If you bought the TT new there should be a booklet or sheet for the toilet in the papers given to you. It should be listed on the build order sheet along with the model and serial numbers. I got a Appliance Information Sheet from my dealer listing everything installed in/on my TT. It even listed the slide toppers we had the dealer install. Otherwise you will have to get on your knees and look near the flush valve or under the back part of the toilet. Use a smartphone front camera to help locate it, then take a picture of the sticker. On my old SOB TT the label was up under the back side, even standing on my head I couldn't see it. The phone camera came to the rescue.

The OP said they have a 5th wheel in the first post and posted it in the TT/5th Wheel section.

first get some plumbers grease and grease the seal in place . if that doesn't work then you'll need to replace . then it depends on brand of toilet . most likely it's a thetford aqua magic or dometic series 310 320 or?
