Top of Door Rubs the Awning
Fellow Apex 259BHSS-ers....
Anyone else noticing that the top of the door rubs against the awning? It's really only brushing up against it, but I'm still concerned about wear over time. Is this something that can be adjusted?

Are the arms locked?
One black knob on each arm.

Yep. Arms are locked.
Thanks for the other suggestions!
Sitting here with my coffee and noticing the angle of the arms...is the angle of that lower bar normal? I tend to get paranoid and could just be creating issues... Lol. :-)

Just push the lower awning arms out some and retighten, and you're awning should go up enough to clear the door. Or roll awning up a couple inches.
Our last 5er was the same way. We couldn't have the awning that far down w/out the door rubbing.

If you unlock then the awning it should raise just a bit, do so easy and hold on to the arm as you twist the knob.

Dometic will advise you NOT to lock those arms. Their design, (which I detest!), is to allow the awning to move about in the wind. Those pneumatic rods are supposed to return the awning to the proper position.
How do I know this? Close to $500.00 to replace the tubes. A gust of wind hit the awning while I had the arms locked. No flex .... except the arm it's self, which committed suicide.
"IF" you choose to lock them, then you MUST tie them down to prevent movement.
As to the original question, on my Windjammer the door also drags the bottom of the awning. If I ever have to mess with it again, I will replace it with a manual awning.

Awning
Don't worry, that piece of crap will kill itself before you rub through it. My BRAND NEW one, used only once in NO wind has already bent the arm that the top of the shock hooks to. It took a very smart person to invent something this cheap. Good luck!

I had that problem on a old feather light, I installed a small dolly wheel on the door and problem solved.
