Has anyone updated the omnidirectional with a steerable antenna? I'm not happy with the performance of the stock antenna, but not crazy about making a hole in the roof, either. Considering a home antenna on a push-up pole to connect externally.
We had a Coachmen 2015 Catalina and the antenna was horrible. We recently upgraded to a 2017 Freedom Express and the antenna is so much better. Also have the Dish playmaker so we are covered on a rainy day and at night, but really impressed with the antenna on Freedom Express

Thanks. I wonder if they changed the antenna from my 2015 Freedom Express. If I'm really close to a metro area, like "rabbit ears" range, it does OK, but it doesn't have much reach beyond that.
It will matter how far you are away and are there many obstacles. My stock antenna was generally ok. Where I am at now the tower is 35 miles away from a tower and dependant on the atmosphere I can have great reception or none. It does not seem to matter clouds etc, so I am not sure what causes it. It's an omnidirectional and I have heard not too many positives about it.
I am considering replacing with another omni as I am not interested in cutting a hole in my roof.
