We brought her home!

So, after much miscommunication between sales and service, we finally got to the dealer yesterday afternoon to do our walk through and pickup. Not real happy to find out when we arrived that they wrecked the camper. Minor damage to the rear ladder only, but still, a BIG boo-boo that we would never have been told about had they been able to get a replacement ladder before our appointment.

Then service had the audacity to sound magnanimous in telling us they would come to our location to replace the ladder when it arrives. You bet they will - we live a good hour from the dealer, literally over the river and through the woods. NOT someplace we want to return and not some place I would recommend. They move a lot of units and they move them too quickly to pay attention to details.

But anyway, here she is, sitting next to the garage.

Good luck. I work in a lot of car dealers and notice how many cars get damaged moving them around. It happens. At least they are making it right. Let's hope that's your biggest problem.

Thanks! Yes, it is documented. DH was worried about damage to the roof/wall where the ladder is bolted, but there was no spider-webbing of the fiberglass so it should be ok. They apparently backed it into the slide topper bracket on another camper.

Good luck, hope all works out for you.

Not to be a buzz-kill, but I had to take my new Coachman Catalina back three times until they got all the warranty "stuff" fixed. I hated to take mine in but after all the $$$$ spent It became the principle of the thing.

I am about 40 minutes from my dealer and it's a pain In the a**. Seems that each time a repair was made, we would go out and find something else or the original repair was not done correctly.

We bought it in October, and it's been in the shop for two out of the six months we've owned it. Seems parts procurement takes more time than one would expect. About three to four weeks for parts from the factory.

Again , I am sorry to be a downer, but make sure your dealer understands your expectations. Don't let'em give you a line. You may need to visit the service manager or the guy who sold it to you.

Again, good luck and I am sure, even with a little heartburn you will enjoy many years of happiness with your new RV.

All the best,

Jim
