We were looking at 5th wheels at the RV show last month (we had never really consider a 5er before) and we noticed that some manufacturers/models have on 2 steps, some 3 steps and some have 4 steps up to the upper level. The ones with only 2 steps had the bed elevated on a platform to give you more height in the pass through storage. The Keystone Cougar models were like that but the ceiling was a bit low and with the step-up platform beside the bed you had to bend over when you're on that platform. My bad lower back didn't really like being bent over like that. What the does your KZ Durango Gold have?

1st of all let me say that the passageway to the
bedroom and the bathroom is on the left side of
the trailer not the right. Thus when you walk into
the trailer you have to walk across the kitchen/living
space to get to the passageway to get to the
bedroom/bathroom which we really like
The Durango we have has two steps a short
hallway/passageway then a doorway into the
bedroom or a door to the right into the
bathroom. The bathroom has two doors, one
to the hall passageway an one to the bedroom.
Also the the bed is not elevated on a platform
which makes it nice, however there is some small
shelves on either side of the bed that may make
it a little harder to make the bed, have not
made up the bed yet
I have a friend who is 6ft 3 and had now problems
standing up straight in the bedroom, like our
Coachmen this trailer has the King bed as a
standard, the DW would not let me buy anything
with a queen
