What is this x2
Newbie, 1st post. We've camped for years (tent, popup, Aliner, now Coachmen Clipper 16B).
Questions apply to this 2015 Clipper 16B: (1) What is the White box in the pic - mounted under the dinette seat in the water heater compartment. (2) What are the black hoses in the same area. (3) Where is an an easy place to tap into the +12 VDC line for creating a cell phone charge port.
Nate
Thanks for your help. I look forward to learning and sharing info here.

1.Water heater control module/board for the 12 volt DC/ Propane side of the water heater.
This is what controls your spark ignitor, flame sense, propane valve.
This (or similar) is what you find under the hood.

those look like flexible propane lines. X2 means you agree with the previous poster.

On another note, I need to finish out some stuff on another thread, I was needing a pic of the module board housing, like you just posted. Do you mind if I use it?

By x2 I meant I had 2 "What is this?" questions.
Yes you may use the pic.
Any answers for question 3? Where can I easily tap into the +12VDC.
Thanks for your responses.

Tap into the 12v cigar lighter plug were the cable outlet is.
We tapped into the radio power in the overhead cabinet. Then I mounted a dual usb port in the cabinet. The cable and the phone are then in the cabinet while charging.

My setup must be different from yours unless I'm not understanding your post. This is a Clipper 16B. I do not have a cigar lighter outlet. Could you post a pic?
Anyone else have a good idea?
Thanks.

My 15 rb has a 12v cigarette lighter port were the television antenna cable booster is in the wall.
Your electrical cab under the seat looks identical to mine. Just tap into an existing red 12v wire and white ground. They are already fused when they come out of the panel.

Correct terminology is 12 volt power port, not cigar lighter. If you have one near the TV antenna, you can get 12 volts there. Hope this helps.

It is now, however, most people still reference Cigarette Lighter when they're describing it.
My other truck still has one of those 12v Power Port Glow Plugs in it

MtBiker, You are absolutely correct. There is a port there. I don't think I would have ever found that. All I needed currently was a port to charge my wife's cell phone so that is perfect. We've only camped in it twice. Thanks much.

Why not just use an AC phone charger and plug it in to any AC outlet?

Yep, that's the reason. Some of our favorite NC mountain sites have no electricity or water. - Thanks.

They do make chargers that plug into the 12v power port/cigarette lighter. You can get them from Amazon, Walmart, etc.
