What's behind the panel?

Don't know if 5er model means anything for this question but we have a 2015 Chaparral 360ibl. Does anybody know what's behind this panel above the freezer?

I have seen lots of set ups like this but have seen some where the refrigerator/freezer unit is higher up and there's no space above the freezer, have seen some where people made an open storage space there and even one where this area was a small but nice wine rack.

So before we punch out that panel to see (would be very hard to put back if we can't use that area for storage), would love some input on those who have more knowledge about these Dometic refrigerator units.

A swag is it is just dead air space for venting the refrigerator. You might be able to move the panel back a little and still maintain the venting and gain a small storage space by putting in a bottom and moving the panel back.
