Winterized this morning

Kinda sad, the season being over for us now. I took the cover off under the sink to get at the pump on our 243RBS. The neat thing was it had a hose ready to use to suck antifreeze through the unit. Just had to flip two valves to get it going.

That said, after every trip, I open the low point drains. Those really need to be closed when winterizing. Otherwise, it will dump most right out the back!

Didn't have an air compressor (yet) to blow the lines, so I used about 5 gallons. Would've been 4 if the drains had been closed.

The anode rod hardly looks used. We only made 6 trips this year for about 31 days.

The only question is about the threads on the water heater for the anode, and how to prevent so much rust during the winter? I used tape on the rod, and getting out was easy. Iknow in a few months, I'll want to put it back.

I left my plugs out too. Must be a Kentucky thang...ran that first gallon right down the driveway.

Kind of did the same here. Hooked up the short hose, stuffed it in the jug, turned on the pump and pumped a gallon of pink stuff into the fresh water tank.....I think. Not sure where it went. Turned the valves the RIGHT way and we were off and running. Got it winterized, now just waiting for the rain to stop so I can get the cover on. Hoping for 1 dry day before the snow flies.
