2013 Palomino Puma 356QLB Awning

I just got this 5er and I know something is wrong with the awing as it is zip tied in the retracted position. I hope to bring it my the house for a couple of days to check this out before I take it to storage.

Does anyone have a idea as to what might be wrong with it before I cut the zip ties? I really don’t want it to knock me off a ladder or something like that.

Once I do get it loose and see if it is the motor or spring is it something I can roll back up by myself?

Thanks

Back when I used to travel a lot I used to put a couple zip ties around the arms just to insure the awning would not deploy while going down the road.

I wish that was the case Decon but the note the consignment folks had was that it did not work. Unfortunately they didn't say why it didn't work

I got this home and when I hit the button I hear a click when I hit the switch either in or out.

also the arms are not nesting like I think they should. Sort of like the top of the arms are about a 1/4 to 3/8's towards the front?

Can't help on the zip ties, but my awning was offset just like that. There is a set screw in the channel against the camper the keeps the awning material from sliding. Remove the set screw and slide the fabric back a bit. To really get it aligned right you need to be able to run the awning out and then back in, so I wouldn't mess with the alignment until you get the awning functioning correctly.

The Pic appears to show Lots of Clear Tube area, thus fabric way out of alignment, this should be Equal on both sides! Also the Ties will do Nothing for preventing the roller tube and Fabric "Deploying Going Down the Road"! Align the Vertical Channels and try again! You can also use the Above Library for awning details! Youroo!!

Thanks guys, the material is about the same on both ends but it is crooked.

The zip ties go around a pin inside the track at the top, I added several more and then added some to the front end just to be safe.

I did find where there was a recall on the electric Dometic awnings for ones made from Feb 13, 2013 to April 9, 2013 where they were not assembled correctly and they can unfurl on their own at anytime. it affects some 26,000 units.

Recall notice
