That's why we prefer a B&W hitch. No rails.

I will know tomorrow we are going to try again and hopefully they have the correct mounting kit for the hitch. I should of just ordered the hitch my self and installed it. I have always been a student of the old adage that if you want something done rite do it your self. If we get it I will post pictures. I am glad you were able to fix your air conditioning fixed in your house but a night camping in the front yard is better than no camping.

Hi Mud sorry it rained on you we picked the trailer up and I posted pictures on a new thread. It rained yesterday and today and we have no leaks so far. We spent all day Saturday going over every thing and cleaning the inside of the trailer and we are real happy with the build quality so far. They had to drill four more holes but did a good job of patching the old ones they welded plate under the old holes and patched the bed liner.

That's good news glad it all worked out for you all. Ya it rained hard on us Saturday night for about 6 hours we got 4.5" of rain. The back ramp door leaked a small amount of water but I found where they didn't apply any caulking behind the ramp awning so no biggy. No other leaks though. Hopw you all enjoy the new TH.

Hi Mud! We are wanting the Columbus. I couldn't find the issues you had with yours...would you mind putting them up again? I am making a list of things to look for when we get ours. Thanks!

Just small items the living room slide not working was the biggy and after they repaired it I still had to adjust it to work properly.

I just ran across this thread, haven't been on here in a while. I have had my 3650 since February. Right now I'm staying in it temporarily in Florida. My only complaint so far is the lack of insulation. It got hot down here and the airconditioner ran full time. Last month's electric bill was $165. My additions are more wire shelves in the kitchen storage area and in the cabinets in the back. I have a Splindide washer and put a plastic cabinet above it that just fit between the washer and cabinet, got it at Home Depot. I put fishing rod racks on both walls in front of the bed. I took the top mattress off in the garage and use tubs for storage since I don't need the bed space. I originally ordered it with out the beds but it came in with them and I'm glad now, makes for a lot of storage up and out of the way....

Rlreed, I put some painters tape over my a/c vents in my garage since we don't sleep out there and you can remove the tape and put it back on anytime you want. Painters tape won't leave sticky or damage the finish no matter how long you leave it stuck on. There are 4 vents in our garage so in our 100 plus heat here in Texas it pushes a lot more air to the rest of the rv. I'm going to do the same to the heat vents in the garage this winter. Just a thought. Oh also look and see if there is Styrofoam in your vents stopping up the air flow. I had to clean all the foam out of mine. The a/c vent covers just pop off. My LED light covers were full of foam also.

I had already blocked off the vents to the garage. I removed the facia on the airconditioner and stuffed foam rubber into the vent going to the garage. I did the same thing to the front stopping cold air from going into the front cap. I just finished another upgrade. The cable wiring in the camper did not work so I took out the wall in the basement and completely rewired with RG6 cable. I took out the fireplace, and the panel directly above it. I put in a shelf and ran the RG6 to the back of it. Now my dvd player and cable box sit on the new shelf above the fireplace out of the way....

I don't intend to use the rv in freezing weather so my next upgrade is to remove the furnace ductwork dumping heat into the basement storage and the outside compartment where the dump valves are. Then I'll insulate the wall between the basement and back of the fireplace...

That looks good I like the shelf above the fireplace. There must be something wrong with your a/c units because we camped in 99 deg. weather and had our rv in direct sunlight and had it set on 68 and it was 68 in our rv and cold in there and I had one vent untaped in the garage. Maybe your a/c has a Freon leak. Something isn't right with your a/c units. Ours freezes us out.

It was 84 in our trailer and it took just over an hour to cool it to 68 zone 1 shut down and zone 2 kept the temp down. I have no vents blocked.

Your A/C is like ours, it cools it right down and cycles off I think RLREED has something wrong with his A/C units.
Now my side by side fridg. is different, when the sun was shining directly on the fridg slide out on that 100 deg. day the fridg. temp came up to 39 degrees so I'm thinking about adding another fan to it's condenser coil to help it remove the heat a little better. Other than that our unit is working perfectly.
RLREED you should have your A/C units looked at.

Columbus Palomino caveat

I'd be cautious about settling on the Columbus Palomino. We've had nothing but trouble with ours. The main slide on ours has never worked right; it makes a horiible squeeling noise when it's being operated in/out, and with each cycle, the slide becomes more and more cock-eyed in the opening. It has failed twice, been "sort of" fixed twice (after a LOT of phone calls to both Forest River and the selling dealer), and now we are afraid to put it on the road again because it looks like it's getting ready to fail for a third time. Not a good deal for us since we are full-timers.

If you really are set on buying the Columbus Palomino toy hauler (which, to be fair, it is a nice-looking vehicle with a lot of amenities), be sure to test those slides several times. Make sure the main slide moves easily and evenly and does NOT make any squeeling noises (our walk-through guide insisted that the noise was not unusual and would subside with time -- we were fools to believe that line), and don't forget to check the wardrobe slide. Our wardrobe slide also malfunctioned twice (seems to be a theme with us), and if yours breaks, you won't be able to access the bedroom. When the main slide breaks, it cuts off access to the thermostat control as well as the bathroom and the bedroom. Not very easy to deal with. Took over three weeks each time we tried to get things fixed. And we were living in it at the time!

My livingroom slide was repaired once also right when we bought it and I still had to align it properly after they fixed it. My other slides have been ok so far. I feel your pain.

Do any of you that have the Palomino Columbus 3650TH have the central Vacuum in it. It shows it as being standard equipment in there specs. and mine didn't come with one. Thinking about contacting Palomino Columbus and inquire about this.
