I dont know why, i think he found the pinbox to be one of the reasons, im sure he will shed some light on this.
Yep- the 36qbok went from 15,825 to 14,660 or so. I have been in contact with the engineering manager over Palomino, Puma, Sabre, and Columbus. My concern is just what the OP said- do I need to put my camper on a diet?
His answer was no, the camper I have is rated for the full weight that the sticker says. Now, that said- the pin box I originally had was technically underrated (it only went up to 15,500) but that is being addressed with the TrailAir (18k capacity). His comment was that the newer ones were derated due to pin box availability over 15,500 and "to keep a balanced coach"; but I'm not sure what that means.
I'm comfortable exceeding the new GVWR. My camper is within its stickers and that's good enough for me. (Specifically, I've done weighings and know what my axles are carrying AND I've split the axles across scales and know that each axle is within spec. The only thing I have not done is individual wheel weights which is something I'd like to do.)
