Another for lube plate.
I also put a little thick axle grease in the grove on the king pin.
I sanded the top of the 5th wheel hitch and repainted it with "Slip-Plate".

i used to drive "big" trucks. so when i had my 5th wheel hitch installed in my truck, i had my trusty grease gun ready! the dealer/installer about freaked! he explained to me about the teflon lube plate. i was hesitant, but if it could do frying pans, i'd try it. as other stated, i only use grease where the manufacturer calls for it, other than that, the lube plate is the way to go!

Yup lube plate too! But I spray dry moly spray on the hitch and king pin. Once it dries it does not come off to the touch. Just don't spray it on your hands. Then it won't come off your hands either. But if you wait 'til it dries to won't come off on your other hand.
