Refrigerator model and questions?

Hello all, we purchased a 2009 Puma Unleashed 27SBU toy hauler this past winter. It is equipped with a Dometic Automatic Refrigertator Temp control model. I have searched for the model number to no avail. I am try to find if this is a 2 way or 3 way model. Need to find if it will run on DC or gas while traveling. The owners manual is of little help and there is no product manual. I would appreciate any and all help that this forum could extend. Thank you in advance. MTG

1 was for auto/gas/elec
1 was for on/off

I guarantee that it's not 3 way.
It's 2 way, so propane or 110V AC.
The majority of RV owners travel with it on propane.

But the propane side needs 12v DC to ignite the flame and run the electronics.

In case it isn't clear.... 2 way means it is either LPG w/12 controls or 110V a/c

Some travel in automatic/LPG mode to keep fridge on. It is your call as to if YOU decide to go this route. It is NOT 100% safe.

Personally I do(if it takes a while to get there) because the fridges need all the help they can get. 30 mins to an hour doesn't really matter...just remember to make it a priority when setting up...most won't automatically restart.

You can usually find the model # and other information on the back side of the refrigerator. Open or remove the vent door for access.

I have found that it will have run propane as we travel. I have looked inside the vent on the side of trailer to find no model number. No model or serial number inside as I am guessing that tag has been removed or became wet and fell off. No big deal now as we have a plan and will turn frig on two days prior to get to operating temp then run on auto/gas as we travel. Have had another trailer, Bigfoot, that had a 3 way frig that we ran on DC as we traveled. Will have to plug in immediately when getting to RV park or start generator soon to keep temps as desired. Guess I will have to get used to a 2 way in lieu of 3 way frig. Thanks all. MTG

MTGunner:

There should be a wiring diagram similar to this if you remove the outside door:

To the right in the pic above is the model number sticker. Here it close up:

The model number may also be in other places, but you may need to open it up and look inside where the control panel is.

At this point, we don't know your model #, but it's very likely one of the ones covered by the docs I'm attaching below.

Any fridge larger than about 3 cu ft will only be 2 way. Trying to power the cooling cycle with 12VDC for anything bigger than 3 cu ft uses WAY more power (i.e., current) than your tow vehicle can supply through the usually skinny wire to your 7-way hitch plug.

Found it...

The previous owner/owners removed the model tags from all the appliances and pasted them on the inside of a cabinet. Why? I have no idea. But, I did find them all. Thank you all for your help and patience. I have downloaded the installation and operating manual for this Dometic. MTG
