Slide Topper

Has anyone added a slide topper to their Puma Unleashed 356qlb?

were there any problems with the installation?

Thanks

We just purchased and installed the Lippert slide topper on our MicroLite 21DS this past Saturday. It was a bit of a pain in the arse to get the brackets connected, even though there is a good YouTube out there showing you what to do. We had a difficult time getting the rods inserted once the brackets were in place. However, once we accomplished it, everything worked perfectly and the product seems to be of good quality.

Did you have problems finding studs to attach it to?

Thanks

I didn't worry about it. The awning rail uses 12 - 15 screws and the brackets each have 5, so there's plenty to grab on to. None of the instructions mentioned studs either. You don't have much choice anyway. The awning has to be placed where it has to be placed.

Our experience as well......we recently installed a slide topper on our Cruise Lite over the dinette and, as you mention, we had the same problem fitting the rods into the bracket holes.
What we found was that we had to file a bit off the outer perimeter of the rod ends ( paint build up ). Once we figured that out, the rod ends went in smoothly. We then touched up the filed rod ends with some black paint. Walah...works like a charm!

Other than the paint build up on the rod ends, the slide topper was a breeze installing.

I also found that a little bit of WD-40 and a hell of a lot of pounding with a rubber mallet helped.
