Trading my Heartland Elkridge
I was thinking about trading my 2011 Heartland Elkridge for a 2012 Puma Unleashed 356 qlb. My Heartland is in excellent condition as also the Puma. But as to the storage capacity in my Heartland compared to the Puma, the Puma doesn't come close. My wife seems to think that I'm going backwards in quality just so I can haul my motorcycle.

One year newer and going from Fiberglass to Metal? Going backwards in my book. I had a toyhauler for a short time and then learned I wanted to either be riding or camping not doing both at the same time. Said good buy to the toyhauler real quick because its like having a 12 foot shed on the back of your camper leaving you a small camper.

You are. Best of luck.
What about a 8 ft bed pickup and a travel trailer?

I double tow, I had a toy hauler (TT) it was the most uncomfortable trailer there was, and trying to get the motorcycle (2014 streetglide) in and out was a pain, 5th wheel toy haulers are worse, I have seen peolple bury their tail pipes in the dirt not paying attention. I went out and bought a 6.5 by 10 foot Aluma flatbed trailer ( I can haul 2 bikes), re-enforced the frame and bumper. You just have to watch and not get yourself into a spot where you have to back up.

I thought about that but a lot of the states that I want to travel through don't allow you to pull another trailer behind a trailer.

I tend to agree with Kimber45. You have a beautiful Indian motorcycle with a saddle meant for touring. Its made to be ridden, not towed. Back in the days when we toured on our '82 GoldWing we always rode it and either stayed in motels or camped in a tent (the Wing pulled a small cargo trailer with all our camping gear). If the Indian can handle it, consider adding a trailer hitch and pulling small, lightweight popup type trailer so you're off the ground.

I like the idea but I would never get my wife to sleep in a tent especially for 6 weeks and I can't get my 3 dogs on the bike . That was another thought behind the toy hauler. We're planning some 6 week trips this year

Can you add one of those lift-gate style motorcycle lifts to the back of a 5th wheel?
Perhaps too much weight but i did see a 5th wheel with a golf cart on the back with one of those so maybe if your frame is beefy enough and you can afford that much weight in the back it might work?

Thanks Weekend, yes it works real well. Took the Shamrock and bikes to New Hampshire from Ohio last year and going out west this year. Doesn’t get much better than camping and riding in an awesome part of the country!

I plan on taking 6 weeks this spring leaving Kentucky and heading south following the the coast from Mobile Alabama, down the West side of Florida, back up the east coast and then coming back across North Carolina back to Kentucky. Depending on how far we travel point to point the toy hauler maybe empty as I ride and my wife drives (depending on weather). This is something we have both been looking forward to doing. My wife was sceptical about the toy hauler until she actually got to see it this afternoon. Since then she has come up with ways to convert the garage into a family room with a patio. Now she's ready to go pick it up and start putting her touch on it.
