04 Sierra Gray water valves

I have two (2) valves for the g/w on my 30 foot fkss. One is under the super slide and the other near the B/W union. Does anyone know why 2 valves? Can I keep the one under the SS open while camping?

I have never had a Trailer before. But when I opened this valve for the first time the smell from the vent was enough to knock small forest creatures out of the trees.

Welcome to the Forum!

You most likely have 2 gray water tanks...one for the bath sink/shower and a separate one for the kitchen sink. Are there two tanks shown on the monitoring panel?

The gray tank for the kitchen sink can get vey smelly with food scraps and needs to be sanitized once a year. I use a capful of laundry detergent, a cup of bleach then fill the tank and let it sit overnight.

Thanks for the response. I did not see a separate tank but why would there be two? The piping makes it appear to run into one tank.

So, when camping for an extended period, it should be okay to leave that valve open? Or would it cause a possible backup in the lines? So the theory would still be to only empty the tank when 3/4 full.

I hate crawling under but, if that is the answer. So be it.

Just so I'm not missing something...do you have 2 separate sewer hook-ups? One common hook-up for black and gray with separate valves PLUS a second sewer hook-up with a valve under the big slide?
