2007 Salem LA water heater bypass

I can't find the access panel to see the rear of the water heater to see if there are bypass valves installed. It appears that the water heater is underneath the shower, and I can't find a way to see the back of the water heater. Any suggestions?

And I thought mine was hard to get at. It's aggravating how they design some of these RV's

What is the model number of your Salem LA, there are several different floor plans.

Are you sure the heater is under the shower? There is not very much room under the showers. Water heaters are quite large, at least 12" x 12" x 24" in size.

Locate where the water heater is located on the outside. Then go inside and look. Some are located under the kitchen sink, the cooktop or refrigerator.

I checked the sink and shower drain pipes which I access through the door on the left side of the front storage compartment. About 4 inches from the shower drain is the rear wall of the storage compartment. I moved around some of the things in the storage compartment and caught sight of a screw in the wall. I moved more things and found my access panel to the water heater. The water heater is under part of the shower, but is accessible through the front storage compartment. I have the one valve bypass system which has the check valve on the hot water line. Thanks for your help.

I'm assuming when you say "one valve bypass" you mean that valve is a 3-way valve. If it's just a standard valve, then you need to find your cold water inlet valve.

In other words, I'm assuming you mean you have option #4, not option #5, on page 2 of the attached plumbing pic. If you have option #5, you need to find the other valve.

Yes, there is just one 3-way valve and one check valve used in this water heater bypass system. Thanks for your reply.

Great. Didn't want you to put antifreeze in your water heater!
