2011 sur 264 fresh water tank support

Anyone that has a freshwater tank supported under the floor, heed this warning. Mine was enclosed with the black underbelly enclosure. The two self tapping screws holding one end of the support bracket broke off allowing the tank to fall down it was full of water and I was on the road. Amazing enough the underbelly material kept it from coming all the way out. Found it when I got to the campground. Only 1.5 hrs from my house. There is a lot of rust in that area. I assume the heads corroded off. The TT was built 01/11. With all the snow they had back there, I believe salt got up in there. Bought it in Ohio and live in Co. I will fix it myself when I get home since I want real bolts installed on both ends. There was no problem when I left home. i got a 2x4 and was able to jack the tank back up. I will also ck the other tanks. I wonder what FR would have done if the tank came out and caused a wreck. Just sharing the info.

Good Info...the underbelly cover is a simple but excellant idea. I have a Coachman Freedom Express 242RBS and LOVE IT!
