2013 coachmen catalina santara HELP!!! WATER HEATER

plugged water into trailer. open valves under sink. drained air out of system. pushed the on button and nothing happened. only cold water comes out. my model is a suburban SW6DE.
How do i know if the water heater is working and how do i get the hot water to work. thanks for the help in advance!

On the outside of your camper should be an access panel to your water heater... In there is a pressure relief valve. If you push that open, you'll either hear the water heater filling or you'll actually get water out of it if it's full. Once the water heater is full, then you can turn on the water heating element. If you turn it on before it's full, you can actually damage the water heating element pretty quick (I came very close to doing this last week at my first trip of the season!).

we did all that but the water is not hot, its never been used, its a new coachmen

Ok, so you're hot water heater is full and it spits out water.

Then- the next thing to check is to make sure your switches are on. I don't have your camper, but on my Sabre- there is an on/off switch at the camper and another one inside. They both have to be on for the water heater to work (and my 12v system needs to be on- either a good/charged battery or connected to shore power and my converter doing its thing).

Are you sure all of the electric heating element switches are on?

Have you tried switching it on to use propane instead?

Hi, we talked to Dunlap RV Center where we bought ours and the mech/tech says that to keep constant hot water we need to have all three of the little things turned the same way but if the middle is the other way than the bypass is on and we will get instant hot water than cold, back and forth! so that is figured out now hopefully!
