2013 Xlite 181BH Fresh water tank fill issue

Hello all, I need some help if possible. Purchased a used 2013 Wildwood Xlite 181BH the end of last summer. Great condition no problems. Fresh water tank was about 1/2 full and by end of summer I had used all the fresh water left in it.
This weekend cleaned it up for season and wanted to add about 10-15 gallons of fresh water to have just in case. While filling it, I noticed water running out of the bottom. Found two hoses underneath, one with a valve and one without. Water was running out of the one without the value. Mind you the tank was pretty much empty. Research says these two lines are the low point and over flow lines for the fresh water tank. My question is this, why would water be going out of the overflow soon as I start filling the fresh water tank? The panel indicates its empty, faucets ran dry when using it last so I know its not full. Barely was able to put 5 gallons in it before noticing it running out. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

That does seem odd. I have a 2012 181BH we purchased new. You are correct - the hose w/ the valve is the fresh water tank drain and the open one in the fresh water tank overflow. The drain hose attaches at the bottom of the tank and the overflow is near the top. Sounds like possibly the two hoses have been switched or the valve is on the wrong hose. Remove the bottom bunk board cover and you can see the tank and both connections. Trace each hose from underneath up to the tank and make sure they are attached to the tank in the proper place. Good luck.

Brian, where you able to figure this out? I have the same problem. I can't get my tank more than half full before water starts coming out of the overflow and then most of the water gets siphoned out through the overflow. I'm not sure how the overflow is installed in the tank, but I'm wondering if it's inserted to far into the tank.
