2016 sun seeker 2400r water leak in left storage compartment when hooked to city water

Hello, we have been chasing a water leak in our rig for the last month. When hooked up to city water and left overnight, a leak begins under the flooring and drips into the left storage compartment. Once we unplug, it takes a day for the residual water to all drain out, then it quits dripping. We can run with our pump and onboard water with no leaks. Can you help me get started? I can't even find a way to get to the inside of the city water connector on the rig? Should I just unscrew from the outside and hope I have a bad connector? No water leak shows inside the coach, I can see water puddling under my fresh water tanks via the small access door, it then drips out into the exterior storage area.

Thanks for your help!

I had a similar issue on my first trip out with our 2016 Forester. Pulled the 3 screws holding the city water hose connection and pulled out a bit. Then I attched my city water hose with my regulator and it revealed a cracked at the pex hose connector. Replaced the parts myself rather than make an appointment at the dealer and have to wait around all day.

Thanks a bunch Sagecoachdriver, i will pull it out and test for a leak. It looks like the part is $20 on Amazon or eBay....

Appreciate it!

An alternative idea

One thing you might consider is replacing the inexpensive and somewhat fragile water inlets with marine quality stainless steel inlets.

I replaced both the city water and black tank flush inlets with those made by Sea Dog. They are much better looking, made of SS and the form factor is almost identical. I do have a small radius of unpainted wall that is exposed, but it's hardly noticeable. There are numerous reports of the plastic inlets breaking off at the most inopportune time, so I was attempting to be proactive with this replacement.

I replaced the plastic Furrion shore power inlet with a marine Furrion SS inlet at the same time. You lose the LED indicator at the coach, but I wasn't bothered by that.

So far I've had five of the black plastic Pex fittings fail, which I replaced with brass. I now own a Pex crimper and travel with a small selection of fittings and clamps. Had one fail on our recent trip to Yellowstone, about one beer and twenty minutes we were back in action. Good luck with your leak, my guess is it's one of the Pex fittings, wish I could tell you how to find it on your rig.
