2017 Vibe RKS potable water overflow

First trip out with new camper and found a few minor concerns, but one that bugs me a lot. We went to a local campground that supplies only electric at site. No problem. I stop just before site and fill up potable tank until 2 overflow lines under camper tell me that tank is full. Unfortunately, site was not very level and it took me a few minutes to maneuver and level the camper. All the while, the overflow lines are reliving themselves. I lost probably about 1/4 of the tank.
Is this normal? I'm looking for a cork to prevent this from happening again.
