I recently took our Forest River 2012, 305 Surveyor out of storage and moved it to the local lake. This is the second time we have had it in the field since it was purchased about two months shy of a year ago. When we hooked, up to city water, all was fine but when we left and returned the next day the grounds keeper had turned our water off during the night because the fresh water tank had filled and over flowed onto the camp site. This seems odd since we were on camp site water the first trip out and nothing was amiss. By the way we have never put water in the fresh water tank, just the dealer when it was preped. The dealer told us that the city water was bypassing the water pump and will over a 7 or 8 hour period indeed fill the fresh water tank and overflow. They (the dealer) said that it was most likely a defective water pump. The factory rep told me it was a mistake in the plumbing and it was under warranty. Have any of you had this problem, and what is your best guess of the cause and fix?
Thanks, Mike
I would believe the person who works and fixes the problem. Sounds like the dealer & the fac.rep. are both (Guessing) the problem. My guess is check valve in the water pump. Youroo!!
Sounds like it bypassing at the pump myself.
On another note if we're leaving our camper for any amount of time we always shut the water off till we return .
