5 minute shower, Really?????

Are you camping at a campground that has showers?? We always use the campground showers. Even if it is 50 cents, most of the time, you get a better shower.

Yes, you can use elec and lp together. Together, they can heat water faster. But only do it while in the shower. After shower, save your propane.

I can't remember the last time I loaded a bag of toiletries, packed a change of undies and clothes, and clogged across a cg in shower shoes to use the public shower. RV is just too convenient. But my father in law does that every time. (I think he enjoys the time away from mother in law.) Lol.

My inlaws are same way...will come and borrow my golf cart at 5 am to go poo because they dont wanna use theirs (but poo in it while we travel??). ....and pack up a backpack like they are hiking to gob shower...whatever...my trailer has a nice big bathroom with a toilet....I aint going out in the cold and dark !!..theres bears in them there woods yall!

I agree, although I am new to camping I selected a unit with a nice shower and other amenities that makes life easier. My Windjammer will be my waterfront condo at times and other times it will be my mountain chalet. RV's have come a long way since my tent camping days in the 70's. My showers may be short but I can live with that, after all you have to suffer a little.That's why most TT's have big screen TV, microwave, internet, ac/heat, and cable need I say more. To each his own. its still a get away meant to be stress free.

I like my own bed and my own shower stall which I know is clean. Never have I seen a cg shower as clean as my own. You never know who has used the cg showers as a urinal. I don't care if they do have endless hot water.

We mostly use cg showers, but we all own water shoes, flip flop or something so we dont step on the floor, bare footed. Just a habit we picked up from the popup days. Sometimes, we give baby girl a shower in the camper.

Not just referring to the floors, the benches & walls are included in my reference to being used as urinals.

OC, are you saying that you don't pee in the shower? Both me and my girl admit to doing it. Some people do it, others don't. It all washes down.

But, we do wear shower/water shoes in the cg shower.

We always try and get close to the shower if we can. We also use the cg facilities as much ad possible. Me being big and tall, my bathroom in the Roo is not made for me.

If you are at a campground that has shower facilities why not use them?
If you are at an area that does not have full hookups, ie maybe electric & water but no sewer, you need to conserve? Think of the poor bastards in California where there is a drought.
Buy an oxygenics shower head, use the shut off feature and learn to take navy showers.
Most of all, stop your whining, it is camping, if you want all the luxury stay home

Remember, not all of us are camping. I very rarely "camp". We travel and take our roving hotel/apt often, but only "camp" a couple of times a year.

I've determined there are about 6 main categories of rvers.
1. Those who set up camp for the sake of camping. Enjoying the outdoors.
2. Those who travel and use and RV ad their motel room.
3. Full timers who choose to live in their RVs.
4. Tailgaters. Those who use an RV as party central for racing, ball games and festivals.
5. Cheap housing. Those who live in campers for cheap housing.
6. Work campers. Those who live in RVs while they travel from job to job.
Maybe a few others but I see these regularly. I am mostly 1&2.

You might also check the flow rate on your shower head. Get one that is adjustable in addition to having a shut off button. That way you can get a blast of water when you need it (or want it) and a trickle when you don't.


PS My wife takes 30-45 minute showers at home and quick showers in the RV. It can be done.

I could see a whole scale between 1 and 2. At the 2 end, I see the people that pull their camper to their inlaws house so they don't have to stay in the house, and have never been anywhere they're not in somebodies driveway.

For me, camping for the sake of camping (the 1 end) means being out in tents in the middle of winter, cooking everything over whatever deadwood you could pull from the brush. Then again, I grew up in a scouting household.

My view is that camping in a trailer is cheating at camping. But as long as I got tired bones and whiny kids, I'm gonna cheat. I'd put us down as a 1.7 for camping, but in a trailer with full hookups, AC, etc...

1 ,2 , and a little 4 here....i grew up camping because it was cheap...we slept in a tent and ate beeany weinees and froze. ..as an adult I want to relive the sights and sounds and activities. ...but not the misery part....I paid my dues...lol...satellite , memory foam, and ac for me now...thanks!.lol

I pee in the sink too....most of the time I take the dishes out first.
