97 Wildwood Water Heater and Fridge Elec. Issues.

Hello, this is our first post to this forum. We are staying in a forest and have recently purchased a 97 wildwood with super slide out. It did not come with an owner's manual (would appreciate help in locating one). We use only propane and 12v from batteries which are charged on solar array.

The refrgerator is a norcold model 6162 and the water heater is a suburban sw6de. When the water heater switch is turned on, the 15a fuse to the refrigerator blows. From the labels on the panel, it seems they are on sep. breakers. Additionally, we've not been able to start the water heater at all and just this morning saw that it was blowing the fridge fuse.

Can someone provide advice as to how to proceed to troubleshoot?

First of all, welcome to the forums!! Not sure how your camper is wired, but in my coach, the fridge, furnace and a thermostat for the fantastic fan were wired together. Turns out that the thermostat was bad and would cause the fuse to blow.

Hope your problem is easy to find.

Good luck!!

The owners manual on these campers are EXTREMELY generic- not worth the paper used to print them. If your'e having trouble getting to sleep at night, then read one. Useless! Since you stated that you only use 12v power, and the camper is a 97, there is a strong possibility you have a bad thermostat. X2 on that probability. Make sure you don't have any wires touching ground on that solar array, also. Good luck, Randy
