Anti-freeze inlet

Need to add water to fresh water tank wondering what would happen if opened the valve for anti-freeze and turned on the outside shower and put the shower hose in the fill hole for fresh water. Put hose for anti-freeze in a 10 gal water jug will it work to pump water to fresh water supply?

Sounds like it should work. Give it a try and let us know how it works.

If you have two separate pump suction valves, one for the AF line and one for the FW tank, just hook your hose to the AF line and open both valves. It will fill your tank. If you have a single 3-way valve, move the handle halfway between the AF line and the FW tank line and it should also backfill (at least mine does). (If you've got one of those fancy water port/docking station things that some newer 5vers have, you may not have this option.)

Be careful and don't fill too fast or you'll overfill the tank. If you are putting in more than the vent line can handle you can balloon your tank, possibly damaging the tank supports.

I do it all the time. Works a treat.

Be aware, the pump may have a hard time pumping high enough. I find I have to have my contain on a table for it to suck in.

Otherwise, if you do much more than 10g, itís super slow. I was boondocking and sucking 20-40g of water (from a bladder on my truck bed) and think I was getting like 1gpm or less.

Pic of when I sanitized the system this way:
