Exclamation Atwood GC6AA-10E Water Heater Drain Plug

Can someone advise me as to the tap size for the 'Drain Plug' on an Atwood GC6AA-10E Water Heater?

This FR Sunseeker 3050S was purchased new, however someone cross threaded the drain plug and used plumber's dope.

So I need to clear the threads.

Thanks

Every Atwood I've seen had a 1/2" pipe thread drain plug.

The Atwood tank drain plugs are plastic and the plug is easy to cross thread. Just throw it away and get another.

You may or may not have thread damage to the bung since a plastic plug shouldn't do any tank damage.
