Back Flow Preventer

On a previous post an issue was broached regarding where to put a back flow preventer to keep the fresh water tank from occasionally filling when connected to city water. My research was inconclusive so I thought this might help.

If you have installed one please indicate what you used and a photo if available via a reply. Not that it matters much but the pump in question is a ShurFlo 4008.

Comments are welcome and appreciated.

Don't put it on the pressure side (outlet side of the pump). Because the pump won't hold the pressure, when you use the pump, it will then never stay at pressure and will cycle ceaselessly! You must add it to the inlet side. It is up to you before or after the strainer. I'd say after, so you don't get large particles gunking up the one-way valve.
