Yes, I am in Colorado. The guy we bought it from, when I asked what we needed to do to live in it in the winter, said, "Nothing. It has an insulated underbelly."
Is there an RVing for Dummies book? I may need it, seriously. Total immersion training here.

Sorry for all your trouble. To your last question, if you have an iPhone or iPad go to the Apple Store and download the Forest River Owner Digital Kit. It looks like this and is free!
[On your screen, you will not see a "open" button until you have downloaded the application.]
Once downloaded, open it and wait for the list of manuals to load. Then click the right category - you can probably use either the Class C Motorhome or Travel Trailer manuals - the info on this area (under Plumbing) is similar. Both include two videos with further information.
In addition to what others have noted, please note the instruction to put nothing in the commode during use except water, human waste and biodegradable toilet paper (and approved RV black tank chemicals). Nothing else of any kind including paper products, napkins, paper towels, wrappers, etc. It is important that all users understand this including children.
Glad to hear this story had a happy ending!!
