Backflow preventer

I put a backflow preventer in my Forest River Cherokee 304R because of water getting in the fresh water tank while hooked up to city water. Now when the pump reaches pressure and shuts off about 5 seconds later it makes a clicking sound every 5 seconds or so. Anyone know why?

The pressure switch is on the pump output, so if you put check valve on output line of pump, then when it shuts off and water pump internal check valve leaks, pressure is lost between water pump and installed check valve and pump will start again. It will cycle on and off to keep pressure between pump and your installed check valve.

Ok how do I correct this problem.

Either you change the whole pump, change the internal water pump check valve or add check valve to the input of the water pump between strainer and fresh water tank (and before the winterizing valve if you have)
