Black and Gray water outlet

We have a 2010 Salem 26' Cruise Lite Backpack Edition, we're boon-docking most of the time, and want to get a portable waste containers 25 or 32 gallons. I noticed that the black and grey water come to a "y" and join as one. This means every time we have grey water it takes up valuable space in the container, any ideas? Right now our grey water goes down a sewage pipe into the bush, mostly dishwater, very little. Can I separate the 2 outlets without re-plumbing the whole trailer? Help!

Even though your pipes come to a 'Y' there should be seperate valves for black and grey allowing you to empty each tank individually. Wouldn't hurt after you empty black tank to open the grey valve just a little to flush/clean out the tube. Don't know about Ontario but in most US campgrounds it is highly illegal to dump any grey water into the bush.

Thanks for the reply, it's my property so it's ok and it's very little water. But I'm using one of those portable black water containers, 25 or 32 gal. Don't want to use the TT black water tank I want separate the two lines at the outlet one black one grey.

My camper seems to be laid out the same as yours. I think what you're asking for would be a pretty big pain/mod to do. I think you'll have to cut back into the "Y" and then affix new outlets. But, I am thinking that you'll be space constrained to pull it off.

OK, now I get it. You want each tank to have it's own drain tube and valve. I think ependydad is spot on about it being a pain.
