Black Tank Additive

What black tank additive do you use: liquid or packet - preferred brand?

Tank Techs RX

Found them while searching the Internet for information concerning "The Incredible Smell" that occupied my cabin. By the second day, I noticed a difference.

Save yourself some $$ and use this home brew most of the folks on the Forum use:
Equal parts of:
Water
PineSol
Liquid Calgon Water Softener
SuperClean

All these items are available at your local Wally World or on line at Amazon.

We put @ 6OZ in the black tank & 4OZ in the gray tank after dumping and "Prime" the black tank with @ 3 gallons of water.

If you have a black tank rinse, make sure you use it EVERY time you dump.

What ever is on sale in Walmart's RV section.

Bought some of the single use bottles last year, no odor issues to report with the blue or orange stuff from there.

Same for us. I think a lot of odor control has to do with keeping the tank as clean from build up as possible and using plenty of water.

Totally agree, lots of water when I drain the tanks.

We used to use Camco TST black tank treatment but a couple of years ago we switched to the Walex Porta-Paks. I think they do a better and quicker job of starting the solids in the black tank breaking down.

Happy Campers powder along with some Calgon. Mix it up with a couple gallons of warm water and dump it in the tank before heading off for our trip.
