It's recommended to put a little antifreeze in the toilet bowl to help keep the seal from drying out. If the black tank vent is working properly, you shouldn't get any odors in the bathroom.

I leave the bathroom vent cracked open all winter and it's stored outside. It has a Max Air vent cover on it.

I believe the recomondation is to leave some water or antifreeze in bowl to seal out smells. As added info I receintly pulled my Thedford potty out and found some sad design issues that will never allow for good cleaning. http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...eak-29197.html

good luck
