Black Water tank

I have a Salem FLBK 38 ft.. the black water tank for the first 4 years of the campers use was left open to the sewer while they used it. I read this is a bad no no. So after i took owner ship, i closed it and treated it until i closed the camper for the winter. i will continue to do this going forward, but does anyone think I have a problem on my hands with this ? I dont need any issues the first year i use for the season...

thanks in advance...

Get something like this:RV Hydro Flush 45 Degree - Valterra F02-4100 - Sewer Flushing - Camping World Then take a garden sprayer on the end of a hose and spray down the toilet to really flush out any build up. Watch until all runs clear.
