Black water tank wire

We just bought a used wild wood 29bs . We are new at rving . I was under the unit in the area of the black water tank and found a loose wire (green) with a small eyelet hanging loose. It looked like it was never hooked up.
.Is this of concern? thanks.

I am guessing your tank indicators are not working properly.
The green wire is the 1/2 tank full indicator sensor.

Yea, but look at where the sensors are installed.

E - means there is more than 6 volts available to the display panel or the ground wire is broken

1/3 - means "not empty"

2/3 - means about 1/2 full

F - means about 7/8 full or "time to dump" or you might get a surprise in a little while.

I understand, my sensors are located the same, just someone doesn't know how to mark the readout. Probably the same guy that told the builders to fill the lense screw cavities with caulk.

Neil,

As an aside, the battery condition indicators are even worse marked.

Almost no one knows that the same lights mean completely different things when monitoring the battery. The "Full" light actually means "C" or charging.

The 2/3 light actually means "G" the battery is somewhere between "Full" and 50% charged. When this light goes out you should be hooking it up to your generator for best battery life.

The 1/3 light actually means "F" the battery is somewhere between 50% and 20% and damage is being done to the plates reducing the battery's useful life.

The "E" light or "L" actually means the voltage is so low (less than 6 volts when it goes out) that you may have permanently damaged your battery's capacity and/or it may no longer take a charge.
