Black water valve issue

I have a 2015 Rockwood Ultra Lite
The black water valve works its way open as I travel down the road. When I get to my destination I have a mess while hooking up.
The past few times I have duck taped so it won't work open.
Can this be adjusted or do I need to replace?

Absolutely agree, this is a must have for every RV.

I'm still using the one from 3 trailers ago.

Back to the OP's question, you should be able to disassemble the blade valve and have a look at what might be going on in there. Usually the force of the sealing rings on either side of the blade are enough that it takes a healthy push/pull to move the blade. If the forces of vibration or wind while going down the road opens yours, something is wrong.

A very annoying problem indeed. I had this same problem on my previous tt. Both the black and grey valves would work open while travelling. I never bothered to try and find out why. I simply got some short (6") bungies and looped over the handle. Problem solved. Never opened again unexpectedly.

I agree with youroo and 5picker, pull apart, inspect and replace what is needed. The valve should have some resistance when pulled open and it is better to fix the problem rather than slap on a Band-Aid, IMHO.

All three of the valves leak on my Cedar Creek.

They have from the day I brought my trailer home and they have been dismantled more than once but never the less they continue to leak.

I have had to use the twist-on valve on my Cedar Creek because I don't like pouring out a fair amount liquid on me and or the ground when I take the cap off thefore it is a necessity.
