No help, but I have the same symptoms. It has been low on the priority list so I've never researched it...

As mentioned by several before, tight water system should not leak / pump should not do the "occasional" thing.

Also, we can absolutely validate the "water heater" theory. The pump will do it's thing as the hot water load cools down. Which can take many hours to get to ...

Water pump / Flow pulsating

When my water pump runs it pulsates/ Thus the water flow is pulsating as well.

Has anyone seen this.

Or let's just say I'll take the campsite with a VIEW over the one with full hookups.

But, if my daughter and the grandkids are with me, it's the other way around. They're worth it, of course, but they don't know what boondocking means. lol

I'm boondocking this week.

If there's another human within a few miles it's not boondocking!

NAH y'all don't understand the point is it's only pure hell when there isn't enough water i.e. 40 gal fresh water tank. Heaven is going to campgrounds with full hookups and not having to worry about running out of water. [emoji38]

Touché

But "dry camping" or whatever the term is for no utilities (hookups) is so less romantic of a term.

I used to love to just drive up forest roads and camp in the middle of nowhere. It's a little harder towing, but my days of sleeping in the bed of a truck are over.

Bear
The pulsation can also be caused by not opening the faucet enough. Low flow will allow the pump to build enough pressure to kick off, then on and so on creating pulsation.
This is normal for a factory pump.

Does it pulsate if you open both faucets wide?

OK folks, if your pump is "cycling" every little bit, whether it is 1, 3, or 30 minutes, your pump check valve(s) are allowing water to pass from the high pressure side to the low pressure (water tank) side.
Debris can sometimes get by the filter screen, or can even find its way into the lines on a new RV during assembly and eventually into the pump workings.
RV water pumps are usually similar in design and as long as you take your time during disassembly not difficult to clean and reassemble. Actually getting the pump out of whatever cubbyhole it is installed in can be a whole 'nother matter. Below is an exploded view of a typical Shurflo pump. If you work over a clean cloth you will probably find some small, even salt grain size, bit of trash that is not letting one of the check valves seal completely.
