Bugs in Fresh Water Tank

While stored, the fresh water tank inhaled a lot of insects.

I have removed and flushed the fresh water tank but the outlet to the pump/filter has a built-in screen inside the tank that is black with insect remains.

I have flushed with water from the outside but the remains remain.

I have tried rags on a small nail but this is no help.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to remove this residue?

Thanks in advance.

Problem Solved!

Upon closer inspection there is a little filter-tube in the fitting that may be removed and cleaned.
