Dave, go to Home Hardware's website and order it to be delivered to your nearest store.
Home Hardware - 1.13kg Water Softener

I'm headed to Gananoque in a couple weeks and the Home Hardware there usually has some in stock.

I to also have used regular fabric softener for years have not had any problems. You can even get it so that your tanks smell tropical. All joking aside the geo method works, but I only use it for my gray tanks. I use a non chemical based enzyme tank cleaner and the fabric softener for the black tank. Many chemicals and some soaps can cause struvites to form in the black tank.

Thanks. I called Home Hardware and they tell me that the warehouse no longers stocks it. It's discontinued. Any Calgon in stores would be existing inventory and won't be re-ordered. If you find it in Gananoque you might want to stock up.

Amazon has this:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005NZ4MGU/...I2TKSXYCTVG2Q3

Would it not work as well? It is also much cheaper.

Thanks for the heads up. If they have some, I'll buy everything they have left!
