Cant close City Check Valve... any help..?

Ok.. hi guys..
I have ben using my 2006 Wildwood T23FBL trailer for a month or two.. and everything was perfect..
Then.. my wife was taking a shower and the water pressure was getting really low.. so I thought maybe there isnt to much water left in the tank.. but I did had water on the zinc and toilet.. so I guess its just the line a bit stuck.. but well .. that is not my main problem..
I went outside.. and conected the city water hose..... and no water was going in.. cos I was thinking that maybe more water was needed to begin.. so no water was going in.. then y was looking at the City Water CHECK VALVE.. and pushed it .. and water started to come out.. from then I can't seem to CLOSE the check valve... I turn the water pump off so water doesnt come out.. but cant seem to put the check valve the way it was to use water inside with the pump on..
ANY HELP ON THIS...?? recomendation..??

1- If I use a CAP on the city water hook up.. will this work like the check valve being close...??

2- Should I just take the part apart and try to see if the check valve is damage from the inside or see if there is something blocking it..?

Let me know guys.. thanks...

The answer to #1 is yes. My answer to #2 is to try but you may end up replacing the city water inlet.
